Why You’ll Love This Cottage Cheese Ranch Dip

This cottage cheese ranch dip isn’t just a creamy and delicious dip — it’s also packed with nutritional benefits that make it a great snack choice. Thanks to the cottage cheese, each serving is naturally high in protein, with 14 grams of protein per serving. Protein helps promote satiety, support muscle health, and curb blood sugar spikes — all especially important if you’re managing PCOS or insulin resistance. The rich, tangy ranch flavor feels like comfort food that any ranch lover will love, but the best part: it’s a healthy swap for regular ranch dip or dressings.

Cottage cheese also provides beneficial probiotics, which support gut health and a healthy gut microbiome. Gut health is usually overlooked but it’s closely tied to hormonal balance and inflammation. It’s also a great source of calcium and vitamin B12, both of which are essential for energy production, healthy bones, and nerve function. If you’re looking for a snack that feels indulgent but works for your body, especially with PCOS in mind, this is a great dip that checks all the boxes. Pair it with your favorite veggies or whole grain crackers for a blood sugar-friendly, satisfying option.

Ingredients You’ll Need

This creamy cottage cheese ranch dip uses 2 simple ingredients that you can find in any of your local grocery stores. Here’s what you’ll need.

ingredients needed to make cottage cheese ranch dip.
  • Cottage Cheese: this is the main ingredient of this flavorful dip. I usually use 2% or full fat cottage cheese for a more creamy texture. You can also opt for fat-free cottage cheese if you prefer. I’ve tried many different brands but I’ve been loving Good Culture cottage cheese lately!

  • Ranch Seasoning: you’ll need ranch seasoning to give it that delicious ranch taste. You’ll need 3 tablespoons of dry ranch dressing mix – to make things simple, you can use a Hidden Valley ranch seasoning packet, which equals 3 tablespoons. You could also make your own ranch seasoning with fresh herbs if you’d prefer.

How To Make Cottage Cheese Ranch Dip

In addition to only being two ingredients, this ranch cottage cheese dip is a super easy dip to make.

All you’re going to need is a food processor. Place your cottage cheese and ranch seasoning into the food processor and blend until smooth. Since cottage cheese has a thick texture, it’s not the best for blending in a traditional blender. I highly recommend a food processor or a strong immersion blender to make things easier.

Transfer the blended cottage cheese dip to a serving bowl.

Serve it as an easy appetizer with fresh vegetables (carrot sticks, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, watermelon radishes, or cucumber slices work well!), tortilla chips, pita bread, potato chips or whole grain crackers. Make this creamy dip as part of your weekly meal prep to use during the week as a healthy snack, a dipping sauce, or spread it on your favorite sandwich!

How To Store It

Store any leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will stay good until the best by date on your cottage cheese container.

When you’re ready to have another serving of your high protein cottage cheese ranch dip, give it a good stir before enjoying.

Pro Tip: store any leftovers in the original cottage cheese container so you’ll always know the best by date!

Tips + Substitutions

  • Swap cottage cheese for plain Greek yogurt or do half cottage cheese and half Greek yogurt to decrease the sodium content.
  • Using full fat cottage cheese will give the most creamy ranch dip texture, but you can use any type of cottage cheese you prefer.
  • Use a store bought ranch seasoning or make your own using dried or fresh dill, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, and a touch of salt.
  • To make it a ranch dressing, add a little milk to make the consistency a little thinner and easy to pour.
  • Swap out the ranch seasoning for any other seasoning packet, such as taco seasoning or onion soup mix.
